from my former website
Evolution and our gardens
Some want to preserve the environment as it was before man arrived.
Some want to use all the resources they can for short term gain.
Some just want to get by, however the can.
And some will shape the environment to be more helpful to humans.
the world can be a harsh place, and if you don't believe me, walk out into a forest in the middle of winter and see how many days it takes for you to feel like you will die.
My point is that every animal we know has a method of life that works for them, and when that method stops working, they die. The human method is to shape our surroundings to work for us.
There are many ways to do this.
My grand father planted trees that produced food and planted blackberries on the banks of a local stream, he did this so that people, whoever they may be, would have more food if they needed it..
Some find this horrifying that he changed the fragile local environment, the blackberries grew very well, killing some of the local fish, the trees go unnoticed by most, later someone built a dam on the stream and killed all the fish and the blackberries.
My point is, that most environmentalists have a bad plan as far as how to continue the human race, and most industrialists have a very bad idea on how to keep things going.
Is it ok for us to mess with the environment and randomly kill off animals and plants that we don't like right now? Probably not a good idea, you never can tell what they might be doing for you. Celtic people would always have a section of the fields left to nature. Other animals would kill us if it helped their method of living, just look at any bacterial infection.
Then, just when the debate gets good, something like the next ice age comes along and will kill much of life as we know it, so, does it really matter?
The gulf stream has slowed to less than 1/4 of its original speed. This is the largest change in the weather in recorded history, and if it changes things the way we think it might, then we have the opportunity to fix views on this topic, as countries fall and many people are gone, the social structures that have created the madness will fall apart, and this is when you come in to my plan, yes, I mean you. When things are rebuilding, help others to determine and act on what is in the best interest of everyone, not just now, but in the future. Remember that lots of things in life are marketing. An example of how things can go wrong, lets say, you associate these thoughts with a style or religion. And then some group says something like "I hate hippy clothes and lifestyle" Remember things like that are good reasons for someone not follow your idea of the future. Almost any lifestyle is sustainable, I like wearing suits and having conversations while drinking cocktails, and I don't mind if the energy to freeze the ice came from a solar panel, but that is just me.
