from my former website

global warming / the next ice age

people keep asking me why the weather is so strange
the reason is that the earth is going into the next ice age.
we have had all the weather that shows us that the ice age is coming
global warming will cause an ice age.
here is how
the earth has a few temperature regulating mechanisms
first the currents in the oceans, it takes about 100 years for the water on the top to change with the water on the bottom, and algae now grows near the edge of the ocean due to the warmer temperature.
second, ocean currents like the gulf stream taking water from the amazon rain forest and delivering it north to places like England to keep it warm. this can only happen if the ocean is salty enough to act as a stream bed for this river to flow on. lots of melting ice makes the ocean less salty.
third is the methyl bromide, forests create it, it goes up into the atmosphere and destroys some ozone, this keeps the plant life on the planet to approximately the same value. I do not know the length of time this cycle takes.
all of these cycles are usually out of phase, this means that one is causing the planet to heat, while another is causing the planet to cool.
now, with all the heat, co2, CFCs, ect... every one of those cycles are aligned to cool the planet. the gulf stream has slowed to less that one fourth of its normal value sometime in the last 2 years (2005).
the ozone is week in the upper atmosphere.
and algae is starting to grow in the middle of the ocean, and the algae in the ocean makes more oxygen than anything else in the planet.
so it looks like we have some cold weather in store for us.
the weather in an ice age will be very chaotic, especially far inland.
I am looking forward to it, I am prepared and change can be fun.
